In episode 120, I speak with super grandma, author of many books and passionate wellness advocate, Lynne Bowman. At the age of 76, Lynne is energised, on purpose and loving her life. Yet, more than thirty years earlier, she was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and told she would suffer from it forever. Well, that was not Lynne's plan. She set out to not just live with it, but reverse it, and that is just what she did. With the right thinking, regular movement and great nutrition she actually achieved her goal and is now diabetes free. She is living proof that you can cook, eat, sleep and walk your way out of type 2 diabetes, along with other chronic ailments. That’s what she wants for you, and the people who love you. Lynne Bowman is an energised grandmother and, at age 76, is more passionate and active than most. She is the author of several books, her newest book, "Brownies for Breakfast, A Cookbook for Diabetics and the People Who Love Them," is a cool, fun, beautiful, guidebook for anybody who wants to eat healthy: vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, gluten-free and sugar-free.

Lynne has an impressive background. She won national awards as a creative director for Silicon Valley companies, was Creative Director at E&J Gallo Winery, Advertising Manager at Redken Laboratories, wrote copy for agencies in San Jose, Los Angeles, and New York, and has also worked as an actress, makeup artist, screenwriter, illustrator, legal journalist and television Weather Person. She has been featured at women's expos throughout the country, teaming with actress Deidre Hall to write and publish Deidre Hall's Kitchen Closeup (2010) and Deidre Hall's How Does She Do It? (2012).

Lynne's greatest achievement is ridding her body of type 2 diabetes, which she was diagnosed with in her 40's. By focusing on what was most important in her life, realising that she needed to take care of herself to look after her children, and taking control of her sleep, movement, mindset and eating, she gained back optimal wellbeing.
