Amongst the many incredible stories and great lessons she shares, Kimberly attributes her success to staying focussed in her own lane. This is an inspirational podcast you really don't want to miss.

Episode Notes

For as long as Kimberly Vandenberg can remember, she has loved the water. It was no doubt that she would go on to be an Olympian, she just didn't think it would take as long or be as hard as it was. Persistence, courage and five attempts at Olympic selection finally saw her dream become a reality. She explained that when she was able to block out the noise around her, be in the moment and stay focused in her own lane, her success was inevitable.

Her achievements speak for themselves. Olympic bronze medalist Kimberly specializes in both the butterfly and freestyle. She is a two-time gold medalist from the 2011 Pan American games in the 200 butterfly and the 4x200 freestyle relay, a silver medalist from the 2007 world championships in the 200 fly and a three-time national champion in the 200 fly.

Since competing in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she has traveled the world giving motivational talks and teaching swim clinics and private lessons to international schools throughout the United States, Asia, Australia, Europe and South America. She continues to swim for the New York Athletic Club and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Psychology at Pepperdine University. In addition to her swim instruction, Kimberly offers Vinyasa Yoga classes designed specifically for swimmers as well as mentoring work through Rise Athletes.

Kimberly, now based in the Pacific Palisades, California, is enthusiastic, entertaining, inspiring and shares many lessons that will change your life, if you apply them. None more profound than the importance of, no matter your aspiration, staying in your own lane. Enjoy my conversation with Kimberly Vandenberg.
