The Wellness Puzzle Podcast

What if?

Episode Summary

In episode 124, I speak again with ultra marathon runner, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and philanthropist Sean Bell, fresh from finishing his run from Cairns to Melbourne. It was the tragedy of losing his best mate at the age of 18 years old that started Sean on his running journey. In 2021 he ran 50 marathons in 50 days, and in June 2022 he completed a 4000km run from Cairns, Queensland to Melbourne, Victoria. His vision was to raise $60,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation, but he blew it out of the park and raised over $100,000. As you can imagine, there were many challenges on this epic journey, however, the question that kept Sean going was, 'What if?' This is an inspiring and paradigm-shifting conversation not to be missed.

Episode Notes

As I was talking to Sean Bell in Episode 102, called Run for wishes, I was amazing at the incredible believe and capacity of this young man. He had run 50 marathons in 50 days to honor his friend Joey and make a difference and was talking about his next adventure. That was to run from Cairns to Melbourne with a vision of 60 in 60 for 60. In other words, to average 60kms per day for 60 days to raise $60k for the Make a Wish Foundation. He called it Run for Wishes.

Well, he didn't do it. He did way better! Instead of 60km's per day, he averaged about 67km. Instead of 60 days, he ran for 62 days. Instead of raising $60,000, he raised over $100,000. He went through seven pairs of running shoes, he ate about 300 donuts, 250 slices of pizza and 14kg of hummus. But the greatest joy for Sean was, not just getting the job done, but was the impact this run has had and will have on many many lives.

His vision is to inspire people to get out of their comfort zone, think big ask the question, what if?, and chase their dreams. Sean faced many challenges on this 62 day adventure, but with a dream in his heart, a great team of people around him and the vision of his purpose, he got the job done, one step at a time. Trust me when I say this is a conversation not to be missed.
